Small businesses in Northern Ireland can apply for loans from £10,000 to £100,000
The NI Small Business Loan Fund is part of Invest NI’s and provides loans for Northern Ireland based individuals and limited companies.
The loan can be used for:
- business start-up costs
- expansion or growth finance
- working capital
- new product or market development
- match funding
- new asset purchases
Eligibility criteria
To access a loan from the NI Small Business Loan Fund, businesses should:
- be predominantly based in Northern Ireland
- have been unable to access mainstream finance
Credit is subject to status, affordability assessments and credit checks.

There is a maximum loan amount of £15,000 to start-up enterprises (businesses trading less than two years). Companies trading over two years can apply for up to £100,000.
Loans are typically unsecured, although personal guarantees may be sought.
Mentoring 91Ïã½¶»ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ can be provided to start-up enterprises where loans of less than £15,000 have been availed of.
