Welsh government launches 拢250,000 challenge to design nature-inspired remote health spaces
The Welsh Government has launched a new innovation challenge inviting businesses and academic partners to design sustainable, nature-inspired health spaces that improve access to care across Wales - particularly in rural and underserved communities.
Up to five projects will each receive up to 拢50,000 (inc. VAT) in Phase 1 funding to co-create prototypes of flexible, moveable healthcare pods. These must integrate market-ready digital technologies, enhance accessibility, and align with NHS Wales standards. Phase 1 focuses on feasibility and co-design with citizens. Attendance at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham (2 - 9 August 2025) to showcase designs is required.
Successful Phase 1 applicants may be invited to apply for Phase 2 funding to build and test a demonstrator unit with clinical functions, secure data transfer, and face-to-face video consultations.
